Job Title: Environmental Laboratory Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Laboratory Technician to join our team at RSK Group. As an Environmental Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our laboratory team with routine sample preparation activities and waste characterisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory work: waste sample preparation and testing including flammability, biodegradability, and leachability testing and making up reagents
  • Field work: supporting waste sampling activities on customer's sites.
  • Data processing: data input, analysis, modelling and reporting.
  • Reporting: assisting with production of reports.
  • Communicating with internal and external parties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of science A levels or a degree in a STEM discipline, preferably an environmental or chemical science.
  • Able to define problems, collect and interpret data and present them in Microsoft Office products especially Word and Excel (advanced Excel training will be provided).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to both follow detailed instructions and innovate, willingly take ownership of issues and seek team participation to achieve best solutions.
  • Able to adhere to safety, health, environmental and quality protocols and advise appropriate intervention or refinement where necessary.
