About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at CareTech Group. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a positive, respectful, and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and encourage achievements.
  • Participate in and encourage the participation of the young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
  • Write review reports, risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
  • Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people are respected and promoted at all times.

Requirements

  • Wide knowledge of the behaviours displayed by children and young people and an understanding of various intervention strategies.
  • Working knowledge of legislation in relation to childcare, including National Care Standards and Children (Scotland) Act 1989.
  • Knowledge of policy and procedures in relation to residential childcare.
  • Understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
  • SVQ 4/SQF 9 Social Services (Children and Young People) and HNC in Social Care or equivalent.
