Teaching and Learning Support Worker

This position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to make a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH). As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) serving children who have been excluded from mainstream education or require extra support beyond traditional school settings.
The main objective of the PRU is to reintegrate students into mainstream education. You will collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students, providing emotional support and encouragement to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support primary and secondary-aged students with SEMH, as well as Behavioural Difficulties.
- Work closely with teachers to create personalized learning plans.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to students.
Requirements:
- Possess a strong commitment to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Demonstrate resilience, determination, and dedication, recognizing the challenges of the role but finding it ultimately rewarding.
- Previous experience working with SEND children or managing Behavioural Difficulties is advantageous.
