Aircraft Maintenance Technician Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team at CV-Library. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with technical documentation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by your supervisor, ensuring safe and effective working practices.
  2. Ensure you are booked to task and advise your supervisor if additional time is required to complete a task.
  3. Carry out movement of heavy equipment, tooling, and spares around the site, using a forklift as necessary.
  4. Assist with aircraft cleaning and maintain a clean working environment.
  5. Carry out servicing of aircraft toilets on aircraft in maintenance.
  6. Contain any fuel and/or oil spillage.
  7. Assist with aircraft manoeuvring requirements.
  8. Ensure all waste products are separated and recycled as necessary.
  9. Ensure the scissor lifts are on charge at the end of their shift and ensure battery servicing is carried out.
  10. Ensure all vehicles are clean and tidy and all fluid levels checked.
  11. Address and report any safety concerns immediately.
  12. Ensure that equipment is maintained in a serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe condition, reporting any faulty equipment immediately.
  13. Carry out additional team responsibilities or any other reasonable request from your supervisor.
  14. Recommend improvements to increase safety and/or efficiency.
  15. Carry out offsite support as required.
  16. Remain up to date with all Read & Sign notices.

Health and Safety: Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities, including:

  1. Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work.
  2. Be aware of aviation safety responsibilities with regards to the AAGDS Safety Policy.
  3. Be aware of aviation security responsibilities with regards to the AAGDS Security Policy.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  1. More than 3 years aircraft experience or recognized aircraft apprenticeship with a minimum of one year aircraft experience plus minimum 12 months service.
  2. Has had Competency Assessment completed and is at a satisfactory level.
  3. Ability to work effectively in a team.
  4. Ability to work unsupervised when required to do so.
  5. Good awareness of Aviation safety.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Able to operate a powerset (GPU).

Desirable Skills:

  1. Previous aircraft experience or some experience in a comparable trade or industry.
  2. Previous experience of working at an operational aerodrome.

This is a 6-month contract initially with a possibility of it being extended.
