Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer to join our research and development team at Peacock Technology.

Our company connects robotics and artificial intelligence to deliver ongoing solutions for food producers to improve long-term food sustainability and animal welfare. We provide a range of products using robotics, machine vision, and sensing technologies to monitor cow conditions and provide farmer insights for disease prevention and welfare.

As part of our commitment to advancing technological solutions, we are looking for a Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer to take responsibility for our robotic products and new developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead automation and robotic design projects
  • Design and test control systems: PLC, Scada, Robotics
  • Produce specifications, plans, and cost analysis
  • Produce documentation for proposals and customer document packs
  • Develop the skills of other team members
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project cycle

Requirements

  • A higher education qualification in a relevant field and more than 3 years of experience in a related role in industry
  • Willingness to visit farms to develop dairy robot solutions
  • Expertise in programming PLCs to an advanced level, producing high-quality, well-formatted programs
  • A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply it to practical problems
  • An understanding of electrical principles and DC circuits
  • Experience producing high-quality, well-formatted programs
  • Hands-on experience of assembly and test of automated solutions
  • Passport and driving license. Willingness to travel occasionally

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Kuka robotic systems
  • Experience with Beckhoff and/or Omron PLCs
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
