SEND Specialist Tutor Position

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to deliver tailored 1:1 tuition to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the Exeter area.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and creative tutor to support children and young people with SEND who have struggled to access mainstream education. As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will work closely with families to understand the individual needs of each pupil and develop a personalized learning plan to bridge gaps in their education and boost attainment levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to pupils with SEND
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the needs of each pupil
  • Work closely with families to understand the individual needs of each pupil
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress

Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential
  • Ability to think creatively and work outside the box
