About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Highway Inspector Assistant to join our team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our West Midlands team, you will play a vital role in supporting our experienced Highways Inspectors on a variety of projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support experienced Highways Inspectors on site visits and surveys of highways assets
  • Provide technical support and assistance as required
  • Have a clean UK driving license and be able to travel to depots as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to deal with a range of issues and conflicting demands
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrate a positive 'can do' attitude

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Understanding of highway maintenance and a willingness to learn and develop a career in this field
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and safety inspection systems such as CONFIRM
  • Awareness of relevant legislation and codes of practice, such as the Highways Act 1980 and Well Managed Highway Infrastructure
