About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join our team at Creditsafe. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and guidance to our business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all legal and compliance matters within our UK business, collaborating with colleagues at our head office when necessary.
  • Oversee and manage legal contracts and compliance documentation, including commercial contract templates, customized agreements, and internal process documentation for various functions such as sales, customer due diligence, and inquiries.
  • Support sales personnel in their communications with customers regarding legal and compliance aspects, including participation in contract negotiations, tender responses, internal policy and procedure adherence, and addressing related inquiries.
  • Manage supplier relationships by offering advice on and negotiating supplier contracts.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to customer support teams and the management team on legal matters as required, addressing issues such as customer contract infringements, complaints, and other legal or compliance disputes and queries.
  • Contribute to our business's data protection compliance efforts, offering insights on GDPR and other relevant legislation, as well as evaluating the implications of Brexit.
  • Evaluate the impact of new and amended laws, regulations, and case law affecting contractual relationships, and furnish advice to the pertinent business units.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a preference for 2-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law, demonstrating proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • While advantageous, experience in the financial and data industries or in-house legal practice is not mandatory.
