Senior Care Assistant Job Description

St Philips Care Group is committed to delivering high-quality care to our residents.

  • As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead a team of care workers to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • You will be responsible for the care planning process, managing medication, and co-ordinating care delivery for a designated group of service users.
  • You will work closely with the Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the home and assume responsibilities in their absence.
  • You will create an environment that respects the rights and wishes of residents and promotes person-centred care and independence.
  • You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and motivating a team of care workers to meet the needs of our residents.
  • You will participate in holistic caring activities and contribute to the development of the care team.
  • You will maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
  • You will be responsible for the safe and dignified handling of residents, including moving and handling, dressing, and assisting with daily hygiene needs.
  • You will observe and report any changes in residents' condition, ensuring prompt action is taken to address any concerns.
  • You will work collaboratively with other teams, including nursing, therapy, and administration, to ensure a seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • NVQ 3 / MA L3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
  • Previous experience as a senior in a Residential Care or Nursing Home.
  • A passion for care of the elderly.
  • Experience of medication administration.
