**Job Title:** Process Improvement Engineer
**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Process Improvement Engineer to join our team at TQR Consultancy Ltd. As a Process Improvement Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing and improving our manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure a smooth transition into production, including routing creation and maintenance, electronic standard operating procedures, tooling design, procurement, and validation.
- Specify, install, and commission capital equipment in line with business requirements.
- Problem-solving using appropriate tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma, Core Tools, Lean, and SPC tools.
- Support production to achieve targets in accordance with the production plan.
- Report on all improvement issues within the scope of the role.
- Continuously improve the performance of processes, equipment, and production procedures in the most economic manner consistent with business objectives.
- Identify and work with the team to implement solutions for technical throughput and capacity limiting issues.
- Define processes, ensure correct shop floor documentation, and inform Team Leaders/Cell Leaders of correct operating procedures.
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to respond to customer complaints, participating in 8D investigations, implementing containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Manage and document process changes through Engineering Change Notes, Engineering Trials, Manufacturing Change Notes, Concessions/Permits.
- Use data to measure process performance and implement improvement activities, including cost reduction, uptime improvements, capacity improvements, air test/performance test failure rate reduction, cycle/process/routing time reduction, and defect reduction.
- A minimum of a HNC level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, coupled with a time-served apprenticeship.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Process or Manufacturing Engineer within a mechanical engineering environment.
- Proven experience of Lean Manufacturing Principles/Six Sigma.
- Continuous Improvement mindset, coupled with extensive experience working on CI and NPI projects.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage workload and deliver multiple projects, coupled with excellent communication skills.
- Competence in AutoCAD.
- Basic ERP experience.
