Junior Fellow in Neuro Intensive Care

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Fellow to join our Neurological Intensive Care Unit. As a Clinical Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced team of Consultants and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for participating in a 1 in 9 full shift rota, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients with complex neurological injuries. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in patient review, admission, and discharge, as well as presenting and discussing patients with the team. Additionally, you will have the chance to participate in Unit and Departmental teaching, as well as contributing to research projects.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have completed UK Foundation Training or its equivalent, and have a strong interest in anaesthesia, critical care, and neurology. You will also need to have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Person SpecificationThe following qualifications and experience are essential for this role:
- MBBS or equivalent
- UK Professional Registration - Full GMC
- 2 years working as a doctor since gaining medical degree
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
- Post graduate qualification/ALS/ATLS
- Post graduate examinations (FRCA/MRCP/FFICM/MCEM/EDIC) or equivalent
The following aptitudes and skills are essential for this role:
- Evidence and ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues (verbal and written communication skills in English)
- Foundation Competencies Neuro Intensive Care or equivalent - fully completed Neuro Intensive Care
- IT skills
- Demonstrates Initiative
- Team working
- Attention to detail
