About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Merchandising and Buying Manager or Merchandiser to join our team at String Ting, a creative woman-owned and operated accessories business. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in optimising inventory levels, driving sales through effective merchandising strategies, and collaborating closely with our founder and creative director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage stock levels and optimise inventory to prevent overstock or stockouts
  • Develop and maintain merchandising plans and forecasting sales
  • Create and analyse sales and inventory reports
  • Collaborate with our founder and makers for new product development and production planning
  • Execute the materials buying process, from supplier negotiation to product selection
  • Manage select wholesale relationships and build a production process around this growing area
Requirements
  • Previous experience in own brand merchandising or a similar role for a retailer with a mix of short and long lead time raw material management
  • High proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (like Zedonk)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create reporting tools and deliver actionable insights
  • Excellent communication abilities and strong organisational skills
  • A keen eye for design and interest in the accessories sector
