Job Description

Contentious Work Solicitor Role

We are seeking a skilled Solicitor to join our Office of the General Counsel team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering solution-focused and commercially pragmatic advice to Grant Thornton's people, including partners and other senior stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial and demonstrable experience of commercial dispute resolution and procedure in England and Wales or another common-law jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deal with a wide range of claims, issues, and projects, including professional liability claims, regulatory issues, professional indemnity insurance litigation, and other diverse risk-management issues.
  2. Work closely with colleagues in our in-house legal team to deliver solution-focused and commercially pragmatic advice to Grant Thornton's people.
  3. Instruct and manage outside solicitors, counsel, and independent experts in disputes about professional services.

What We're Looking For

  1. A qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial experience of commercial dispute resolution and procedure in England and Wales or another common-law jurisdiction.
  2. A good working knowledge of law and procedure as they relate to professional liability, preferably in respect of professional advisers.
  3. A pragmatic and commercial approach, with an ability to identify improvements to help achieve better outcomes and prevent problems from occurring.
