About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Group Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Group Finance team at Blue Octopus Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and assistance to our Group Head Office, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is available to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual audit working papers.
  • Perform daily and weekly cash reporting, including manual payments and prepayments.
  • Review and process Group recharges, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Prepare and post journals, including credit card statements and VAT returns.
  • Support the completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis.
  • Maintain the Head Office Fixed Asset register and provide cover for the Head Office Management Accountant.
Requirements
  • Full or part-qualified in AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including VLookups and Pivot tables.
  • Good accounting and financial knowledge, with a desire to continue or commence an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently to deadlines, particularly at month-end and year-end.
  • Flexible attitude to changing business needs.
