Operations Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee business operations, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve problems that occur on their shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the adherence of site H&S procedures, identifying and implementing corrective actions for issues arising, and managing manpower resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all on-shift Health, Safety, Environmental issues arising, including full safety incident investigation and corrective action implementation.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing corrective actions for issues arising that affect the successful achievement of departmental KPIs, as well as specifying process improvements that will enhance operational performance.
- Responsible for representing the department at internal and external customer meetings, communicating departmental shift issues and performance at team briefs, and attending team board reviews and board walks.
- Manage manpower resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and implement Lean Manufacturing principles, including the implementation of CI activity.
- Drive company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels and deal with all personnel issues on shift in line with Company Policy.
- Responsible for managing the development and maintenance of accurate Standard Work documentation, continually auditing employees against the standard to drive process consistency, and using the process to coach employees and team leaders to maintain process standards while driving a zero-tolerance mindset for process deviation.
- Identify departmental training needs using company training process (Training matrix, Gap Analysis, etc.) to maximize employee versatility, capture all training with sign-off documentation.
- Drive Departmental Quality objectives, carry out and complete full PPS activity and Root Cause Analysis for any Premium Freight, scrap costs, or stock losses.
- Assist production in engineering changes, production trials, model change, and pilot build.
- Enact contingency plans as needed, escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc., identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to management, provide input for future process improvements.
- Review ongoing performance results to targets, take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed.
- Responsible for providing effective supervision to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience in supervisory roles.
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
- Understanding of business planning.
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
