Assistant Project Manager - Land Development

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our client's team in Bristol. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, execution, and delivery of land development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project proposals, including determining project requirements, scope, resources, programme, and cost estimates for delivering the project.
  • Develop project management documentation, including project management plans, cost estimates and forecasts, risk registers, project schedules, stakeholder registers, and project organisation charts.
  • Monitor and control project progress according to agreed measures and organisational procedures, recommending corrective action where necessary.
  • Contract management and contract administration, including change management.
  • Manage changes to project scope.
  • Manage work performed by project team members, ensuring outputs meet project requirements.
  • Maintain project deliverables, information, and records.
  • Performance management and reporting.
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to the project director, project team, and customer.
  • Anticipate and take pre-emptive action to address issues and potential conflict situations that may impact project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Typically, 2 years' post-qualification experience in a project delivery environment or technical discipline.
  • Degree in a relevant technical discipline (engineering, land quality, building, quantity surveying, science, project or construction management) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Interest in membership of appropriate professional institution (PMI, APM, MRICS, MCIOB).
  • Willingness to work towards qualification/certification at a professional level, for example, PRINCE2, APM PMQ (APMP) or RPP, PMP.
