Strategic Director of Economic Expertise

At Cambridge Credentials, we are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Director of Economic Expertise to join our team. This role requires expertise in economic, micro-economic, cost, and regulatory frameworks within UK regulated utilities such as water, gas, electricity, hydrogen, and more.
The successful candidate will be part of a larger business unit that provides strategic and technical advice on corporate finance issues, corporate financial management, regulatory finance, regulatory policy, business, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a range of projects in the water and energy network sectors, focusing on robust economic analysis related to cost and performance.
- Apply structured strategic approaches to problem-solving, drawing on established economic principles, while thinking creatively.
- Develop econometric models for benchmarking costs across companies, supporting clients through cost-benefit analysis and other benchmarking approaches.
Requirements:
- A passion for learning and development in the role.
- Experience in the utilities sector, industry, regulator, or consulting.
- Familiarity with available data sources for utility sectors and ability to find, verify, and analyse data.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for utility companies, micro-economics, or finance, or strong understanding of microeconomic principles.
We offer a competitive salary of £90,000 - £130,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
