About the Role

Fawkes and Reece is seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will be responsible for managing the design development for packages or sections of works, managing consultant design teams, and dealing with local authorities to achieve planning permissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design development process for packages or sections of works
  • Lead and manage consultant design teams
  • Coordinate with local authorities to obtain planning permissions
  • Review construction design information for buildability, compliance with contractors' proposals, employers' requirements, budget, and current building legislation
  • Ensure the smooth and timely delivery of detailed design information for procurement and construction throughout the preconstruction and build process

Fawkes and Reece is a respected market-leading main contractor with a proven track record in delivering new build and refurbishment schemes in commercial office, industrial buildings, leisure centers, and other sectors across the UK.

We are looking for an individual with excellent technical and commercial knowledge, a keen understanding of construction methodology, materials, and systems, procurement lead times, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successful project delivery with a recognized main contractor in a Design Coordination/Design Management role
  • High standards, attention to detail, and the drive to deliver on programme, specification, and budget
