Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Payables Team: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to your team members to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage End-to-End Accounts Payable Processes: Oversee the timely and accurate recording of transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee Direct Debit Payments: Ensure that direct debit payments are made within guidelines and in accordance with company policies.
  • Create and Monitor Team KPIs: Develop and track key performance indicators to enhance productivity and efficiency within the team.
  • Collaborate with the Property Team: Work closely with the property team to ensure accurate lease information and payments.
  • Approve Supplier Payments: Review and approve supplier payments, ensuring that they are accurate and compliant with company policies.
  • Manage Cash Flow: Effectively manage cash flow to ensure that the company's financial obligations are met.
  • Conduct Regular Performance Reviews: Provide regular performance reviews and development opportunities to team members.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the team.
  • Maintain Positive Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and resolve any queries or issues promptly.
  • Generate Regular Reports: Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable activities and relevant metrics.
Requirements:
  • AAT Qualified or Studying Towards a Professional Qualification: Possess a recognized accounting qualification or be studying towards one.
  • Experience in an Accounts Payable Manager Role: Have experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success.
  • In-Depth Knowledge of P2P Processes: Have a thorough understanding of procurement-to-pay processes, preferably in a retail context.
  • Experience of Managing a Team: Have experience of managing a team, with a focus on development and motivation.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to Support and Implement Process Improvements: Be able to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the team.
  • Strong Excel Skills: Possess strong Excel skills to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Collaborative Approach: Have a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
