**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at NPL, working in collaboration with experimental teams at Strathclyde. The successful candidate will focus on exploring scalability of atomic quantum hardware by overcoming barriers to achieving high fidelity coherent control and entanglement using both trapped ions and neutral atoms.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- BSc or MSc degree in Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
- Excellent understanding of quantum mechanics and its applications.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or C++.
