About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team at G2 Legal Limited. As a leading specialist firm in Court of Protection and Private Client services, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional services to our clients in this niche field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Property and Affairs files, supported by Case Workers and trainee solicitors/paralegals
  • Assist senior team members with complex Property and Affairs files
  • Provide daily advice on practical and legal issues, undertaking applications to the Court
  • Involvement in contested and high-value cases, including those with jurisdictional issues and financial abuse investigations
Requirements
  • Professional Deputyship: Experience with high-value, complex matters
  • Court of Protection Applications: Experience managing cases and submitting applications
  • Contested COP Matters: Preparing instructions to counsel, court bundles and other documentation
  • Advice on LPAs & Lay Deputyship: Providing support to families on legal applications
  • Financial Abuse Investigations: Conducting investigations and providing legal advice
  • Knowledge of Welfare Issues & Care Funding: Familiarity with local authority/NHS funding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Experience: 2+ years in Court of Protection/Property and Affairs work (pre- or post-qualification)
