Senior Optometrist Position Available

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced optometrist to join our growing team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to undertake a range of core hospital optometry services, including diagnostic refractions, paediatric refractions, and specialist medical contact lens management.
The successful candidate will maintain a personal clinical workload within these core activities and undertake mainly complex cases referred by other staff in the optometry department for highly specialist optometric opinion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection and patient confidentiality issues, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake diagnostic refractions and paediatric refractions as required
- Manage specialist medical contact lens prescriptions
- Maintain a personal clinical workload within core activities
- Undertake complex cases referred by other staff for specialist optometric opinion
Requirements:
- Current registration with the General Optical Council as an optometrist
- BSc Honours degree in Optometry or equivalent
- Previous experience of core or extended hospital optometry roles
- Experience of Patient Administration Systems and NHS hospital systems
- Excellent communication and data protection skills
