Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Manager to join our team at i-Jobs, working within the Local Authority's Children and Schools division. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on services that support children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert financial guidance to senior stakeholders and elected members.
  • Lead a team to deliver financial support across the Children and Families Directorate, including Children's Social Care and Home to School Transport.
  • Oversee accounting arrangements for the Dedicated Schools Grant.
  • Contribute to the Finance Leadership Team responsible for managing the overall finance service within the authority.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong experience in financial management, particularly in the public sector or related areas.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and procedures related to children's services.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders and elected members.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of £33.18 per hour (PAYE).
  • A 3-month contract with potential for extension.
  • A standard working week of Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (37 hours).
