**Job Title:** Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Support Specialist to lead in providing specialist trauma-informed mental health support for young people with complex difficulties. The successful candidate will work closely with CAMHS to implement therapeutic care plans and support residential staff to use Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with CAMHS, take a daily lead on clinical matters for young people, and development of policy relating to therapeutic care practice.
  • Support all staff in the implementation of trauma-informed care through using PACE to build relationships, help understand what is behind behaviours, and help young people feel safe.
  • Offer specialist mental health consultation and advice to all staff.
  • Assess and manage ongoing risks as identified during a young person's stay in the home, ensuring collaboration with them and their carers.
  • Lead on the implementation of care plans.
  • Be aware of Local Authority and Trust policies and protocols within own registering body and the Trust Strategy/Local Authority Strategy.
  • Ensure staff within service area are compliant with their regulatory body's regulations.
  • Take a lead on audits within the team to ensure clinical staff are undertaking mandatory training as indicated.

Salary: £43,041 - £62,002 per annum
