We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team in Hinckley and lead the clinical standards and growth of the practice.

This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary starting at £70,000 (dependent on experience) and a structured 40-hour work week with a rota schedule, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will have a veterinary degree with current RCVS registration and significant experience in veterinary surgery, ideally with prior leadership experience.

Job Description:

As the Head Veterinary Surgeon, you will be responsible for leading a team of 5 veterinarians, 5 nurses, 2 student nurses, and 2 animal care assistants. You will oversee all clinical and surgical activities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

You will develop treatment protocols and establish clinical standards in collaboration with the team, conduct consultations, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures, engage with clients to ensure compassionate, effective communication, and build long-term client relationships.

You will participate in the development and implementation of practice initiatives and improvements, ensuring the continued growth and success of the practice.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Veterinary degree with current RCVS registration
  • Significant experience in veterinary surgery, ideally with prior leadership experience
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for high-quality patient care
