Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join our team as a BESS Solution Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and optimizing utility-scale energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Engineering: Design and engineer utility-scale energy storage systems, working closely with our sales team to offer engineering solutions to customers.
  • RFP Analysis: Analyze RFP documentation and assess project scope and risk to ensure successful project execution.
  • Technical Design and Presentations: Conduct technical design and presentations, providing clarifications to our sales team and customers to ensure a clear understanding of our technical solutions.
  • Customer Requirements: Understand, interpret, and relay customer requirements into BESS technical solution designs, ensuring that our solutions meet customer needs.
  • Tender Response: Review and submit technical tender response bundles within deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate responses to customer requests.
  • Previous Tender Analysis: Follow up and analyze previous technical tender submissions to understand outcomes and results from a technical perspective.
  • Market Trends: Stay up-to-date with storage market technical and engineering requirements and trends, ensuring that our solutions are aligned with industry developments.
  • Competitive Landscape: Study the competitive landscape for ongoing product technical solution development, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with customers and commercial teams to support contract negotiation and finalization from a technical perspective.
Qualifications and Expertise
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Energy Engineering.
  • Language: Fluency in technical English.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably including experience working for a DNO or TSO.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of battery systems, power conversion systems, PPC/EMS/SCADA, and grid connection processes for jurisdictions under management (UK or relevant regions in Europe).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and standards for BESS systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to size the Power Converter System (PCS) and battery system, and familiarity with design concepts related to short circuit protection, conductor sizing, thermal systems, safety systems, etc.
  • Additional Languages: Familiarity with additional European languages (e.g., Italian, German, Spanish) is a plus.
