Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £23,451 (pro rata) per annum, along with a range of benefits including minimum of 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), benefits platform, further studies support and career development opportunities, annual Leave and Cycle to work purchase scheme, employee health assistance scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, and a generous contributory pension scheme.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Housing Support Worker to join our team at Pendinas Hostel in Bangor. As a Housing Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to vulnerable individuals, helping them to develop life skills and achieve their goals. Your role will involve:

  • Supporting service users with mental health and wellbeing, by encouraging healthy activities and lifestyles, and signposting to services
  • Assisting with claims for housing and associated benefits to support residents' financial stability
  • Organising and managing a range of engaging activities to promote social inclusion
  • Playing a hands-on role in responding to incidents, completing room checks and ensuring properties are maintained
  • Maintaining accurate service user records and files
  • Performing regular security and fire safety checks

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have experience working in a client-centred environment, good verbal and written communication skills, hardworking attitude, and basic IT skills. Knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable people and awareness of issues connected to homelessness would be advantageous. A valid UK driving licence and vehicle availability for work purposes are also essential.
