Job DescriptionThis is a key role in our high-performing Publishing Operations team, responsible for managing our journals' peer review process. We are seeking individuals with excellent organisational and decision-making skills who can develop a career in scientific publishing. Associate Editors will work across a portfolio of journals, contributing to improving the quality of content and author service. They will be responsible for providing a quality and efficient peer review process, ensuring the validity of research papers submitted for publication. This involves selecting appropriate reviewers, making decisions at key stages based on expert advice, improving author and reviewer service, and upholding journals' high standards in timeliness, quality, and accuracy.

Required Skills and QualificationsWe are looking for confident communicators and ambassadors for IOP Publishing who can interact with leading academics from around the world. A strong understanding of scientific publishing principles, processes, and software applications is essential. Excellent administrative and organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also required. Additionally, we value candidates with excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
