Climax Studios is a renowned developer of digital experiences, with a rich history spanning nearly 30 years. We are seeking an experienced Lighting Artist to join our UK-based team and contribute to the creation of innovative, visually stunning experiences.

As a Lighting Artist at Climax Studios, you will work closely with our design and technical art teams to craft balanced and atmospheric lighting for in-game environments and cinematics. Your expertise will be invaluable in enhancing game environments and locations through thoughtful lighting composition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and technical art teams to create engaging lighting for in-game environments and cinematics.
  • Develop lighting-related visual and post effects to elevate the game's visual appeal.
  • Ensure runtime performance and optimization of lighting effects.
  • Contribute to the project's overall mood and storytelling through effective lighting design.

Requirements

  • Experience with Maya and Unreal 4/5.
  • Extensive experience with 2D packages such as Photoshop/Substance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Shaders and materials.
  • Minimum 2 years of lighting experience on a AAA project.
  • Knowledge of various baked and real-time lighting methods.
  • Strong Environment or Tech Art background.
  • Creative and self-motivated.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Artistic education to at least graduate level.
  • Strong folio showcasing realistic modeling and environment work.
