Inclusive Community Assistant

We are seeking an Inclusive Community Assistant to support individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs through leisure and social activities at Midland Mencap.

About Us

Our mission is to provide accessible and inclusive services, improving the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities and additional needs.

As an Inclusive Community Assistant, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between mainstream leisure and social activities and those tailored to the diverse needs of individuals with learning disabilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support participants at our weekly social evening or monthly disco, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Assist in setting up equipment and tidying away at the end of each session, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Possibility to lead certain activities, helping to create engaging and interactive experiences.

Requirements:
  1. An genuine interest in helping others, being approachable and friendly in interactions.
  2. A valid enhanced DBS check is mandatory for all successful applicants.

Salary:

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
