Engineering Support Specialist

Wincanton

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Support Specialist to join our team at Wincanton. This exciting role will appeal to an individual with experience, drive, determination, and enthusiasm.

The Role:

To assist in the general day-to-day running of the site operations, carry out first-line fixes on non-critical equipment, and ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. The role is part of the formation of the in-house engineering team at Wincanton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain the company's property and equipment as instructed by the Engineering Manager, in accordance with set schedules and manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis to company property/equipment both indoors and outside the building.
  • Comply with standard Health & Safety at Work responsibilities.
  • Work flexible hours commensurate with the needs of the business and those sections using the site.
  • Participate in standby duties and attend the site outside normal working hours in the event of an emergency.
  • Undertake such duties as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager, relating to the safety and operation of the site.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

Administration skills, use of PC

Repairing mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and components

Experience of working in an automated warehouse environment

Desirable:

Educated to City and Guilds/BTECH standard or a minimum of 5 years mechanical engineering experience

Welding (mig/stick, etc)

Working knowledge of conveyors and associated equipment

Good systematic problem-solving skills on mechanical components
