Role Overview
As an Export Specialist, you will play a vital role in the success of our operation. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the smooth running of goods moving in and out of the country and being accountable for their arrival to our clients' facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team to deliver satisfaction in logistics for all accounts.
- Allocating stock to bookings and processing shipments in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Completing customs procedures and working with appointed routed agents and company-operated services.
- Preparing and providing documents to customers in accordance with the terms of shipment SOPs.
- Continuously monitoring shipments from the point of receipt through to delivery.
- Using great interpersonal and customer care skills to build relationships with clients and answer questions/queries as they arise in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced targeted environment.
- Escalating any problems as they arise and seeking to find solutions.
- Liaising with various suppliers in the UK and sending the freight via courier or air freight.
- Arranging transportation for all outgoing shipments, both domestic and export.
- Preparing required shipping documentation for all export shipments.
- Ensuring compliance with Letters of Credit and other shipping regulations.
- Updating ERP, logistics, and shipping software data as needed.
- Ensuring proper coordination with logistics providers.
- Applying and practicing unit rules and regulations and complying with contractual requirements and handbook policies.
- Applying and practicing Health and Safety instructions and regulations.
- Applying all Statutory requirements as instructed.
- Embracing, demonstrating, and promoting good customer service at all times.
- Undertaking a program of personal development in line with the company process.
Requirements
- Previous experience shipping manufactured goods in EMEA, North America, China, and Australia.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing and services environment.
- A dynamic individual who is eager to progress.
- Tenacious, completer-finisher with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer care skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure.
