About the Role

This is a key position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of scenic construction principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing our warehouse and workshop scenic team, managing day-to-day tasks, and ensuring the highest possible standards and deadlines are met.

The role involves hands-on construction of scenic products, regular communication with the Head of Scenic, providing input on construction design and material specification, and maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the scenic team to achieve exceptional results
  • Manage day-to-day tasks and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in the workshop
  • Provide input on construction design and material specification
  • Conduct hands-on construction of scenic products
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the live events industry with a specialism in scenic construction
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and CAD plans
  • Good working knowledge of workshop tools and machinery
  • Excellent carpentry skills and attention to detail
Working Hours and Benefits

The typical working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, although flexibility is required due to the nature of the industry. You will also have access to a company pension scheme and 28 days of annual leave, plus your birthday off after three years of service.
