Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team at Smart Recruitment Solutions Yeovil. As a key member of our payroll department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payrolls for all school staff.

The successful candidate will have experience with payroll software, including Iris, Sage, QuickBooks, or ADP, as well as knowledge of pension schemes and auto-enrolment. You will be responsible for performing complex calculations, handling large volumes of data, and reporting to HMRC and liaising regarding any queries.

In this exciting new role, you will bring your expertise to support the Payroll manager as they transition to a new system. Your duties will include calculation of tax and NI, calculating pay increases, overtime, and bonuses, as well as calculating SMP, SSP, and other benefits. Previous experience of Salary Exchange scheme would be useful but not essential.

To be successful in this position, you must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
