Energy Manager Trainee

About the Role
This exciting opportunity is part of the Sustainability Team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where you will complete the Level 3 Junior Energy Manager Apprenticeship. The role is a two-year fixed-term contract, providing a dynamic and challenging environment to develop your skills and knowledge.
As a key member of the Estates and Facilities Department, you will work closely with the Head of Sustainability, managing projects and supporting training provided by an external apprenticeship management company. At least 20% of your role will consist of formal training, ensuring you stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments.
Main Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and present data on energy performance, creating clear and attractive reports.
- Assist in creating and implementing plans to reduce the carbon footprint of the Trust.
- Conduct internal energy audits, surveys, and checks on energy monitoring.
- Review policies and practices in light of new or changing regulations, best practices, and Trust policies.
- Support the creation and delivery of awareness days, behavior change campaigns, and presentations to staff on best practices.
About Us
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2019 through the merger of two adult acute Trusts. The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services, improving healthcare services for the city and enhancing patient care and health outcomes.
The Trust operates Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital, and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, serving a core population of around 630,000 people and providing specialist services to a wider area.
Requirements
- Qualified to at least A-Level (x2) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades A* to C (including Mathematics & English).
- Experience of project management and administration.
- Experience of communicating with various audiences.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Mathematics or Science-based A-Level.
- Level 3 Junior Energy Manager apprenticeship.
- Experience and enthusiasm for communicating sustainability issues through meetings, events, and marketing materials.
