Ward Clerk

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Ward Clerk in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Ward at the Friarage Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the ward.

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, relatives, and other members of the public, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection policies.
• Assist with the coordination of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare teams.
• Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and photocopying, to support the efficient operation of the ward.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, promoting a positive and supportive environment.

• GCSEs A-C or equivalent qualification/experience
• NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
• Previous experience of working in a clerical environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in hospital computer systems
