Embedded Linux Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Linux Engineer to join our client's team in Cambridge. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work from home and in the office.

Job Overview:

  • Duration: 8 months
  • Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)
  • Rate: GBP500pd
  • IR35 Status: Inside

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining embedded Linux systems for our client's networking infrastructure. This will involve working with ARM-based microcontrollers, Linux and Yocto for custom distributions, and hardware interface debugging.

Requirements:

  • Experience with C programming on ARM-based microcontrollers
  • Knowledge of Linux and Yocto for custom distributions
  • Hardware interface debugging skills, including USB, SPI, and I2C
  • Understanding of IPv4/IPv6 networking, init scripts, systemd, and load sharing techniques (ECMP/LAG)
  • Ability to write shell scripts
  • Familiarity with HSM for private key management and code signing
