Head of Estimating Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Estimating to lead our team and drive our projects to success. As a key member of our commercial contracting division, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining estimation methodologies, tools, and databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and value engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Engage with clients to discuss and clarify project requirements and negotiate costs and terms.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the company's strategic planning and business development efforts.
Requirements:
  • Experience in construction or engineering, with strong leadership skills and expertise in cost estimation, bid preparation, and risk analysis.
  • Detail-oriented, proficient with estimating software, and excellent in client interaction, team management, and optimising project costs for profitability and efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
