We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Stores Assistant to join our team at Gwent Police, based at the Cwmbran Police Station. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure storage, handling, and disposal of evidential property.
Key Responsibilities- Follow the Programme of Work set by the EPU Lead, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Audit evidential property to ensure it is retained or disposed of in accordance with force policy and legislation.
- Highlight items of evidential property for central disposal, including collating items for sale via eBay or Wilson's Auction.
- Identify and report exhibits incorrectly packaged for action.
- Collate items identified for return to owner and store them appropriately.
- Comply with force operating procedures for equipment operation, ensuring statutory health and safety duties are met.
- Highlight instances of risk from hazardous material that may cause fire or contamination to store property.
- Minimum of five grade A-C GCSE's or equivalent minimum standards.
- Previous experience working in a secure stores environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel independently to given locations within and outside the Force area.
- Physical fitness to lift and carry heavy items up to 15 kilos in weight.
