Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and processes within our manufacturing facilities and local construction activities. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular factory and site inspections to ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and internal management systems
  • Liaising with site management on a daily basis to ensure a safe working environment
  • Chairing health and safety meetings to discuss and address any concerns or issues
  • Updating and reviewing method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Compiling training matrices and training needs analyses to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge
  • Conducting accident investigations and promoting a culture of near-miss reporting to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Supporting managers in conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure employees are aware of potential hazards and risks
  • Completing pre-tender qualification questionnaires to ensure compliance with industry standards

The Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environmental management within the construction industry
  • Extensive knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation applicable to the construction industry and the manufacturing environment
  • A NEBOSH diploma or equivalent is essential, with an Environmental qualification and Train the Trainer qualification being desirable
  • Strong communication skills and IT literacy on Microsoft office packages
