Job Description

At Creagh Concrete, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environmental professional to join our team as a Health Safety Environment Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and processes within our manufacturing facilities and local construction activities.

  • Conduct regular factory and site inspections to ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and internal management systems.
  • Collaborate with site management on a daily basis to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Chair health and safety meetings to discuss and address any concerns or issues.
  • Develop and review method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  • Compile training matrices and training needs analyses to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support managers in conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to promote a safety-first culture.
  • Complete pre-tender qualification questionnaires to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environmental management within the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation applicable to the construction industry and manufacturing environment.
  • A NEBOSH diploma or equivalent is essential for this role.
  • An Environmental qualification and Train the Trainer qualification would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
