Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, including financial transactions, financial reporting, and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Transactions

  • Manage all financial transactions, including posting information to accounting journals or accounting software and accounts reconciliation.
  • Prepare and examine financial reports and records, and create effective and cost-efficient financial practices and procedures for the business.

Accounts and Bookkeeping

  • Administer supplier payments and deal with supplier queries.
  • Raise ad hoc purchase orders for services.
  • Administer customer invoicing.
  • Investigate and agree customer debit notes, contacting customers as required.
  • Chase overdue invoices.
  • Deal with the weekly reporting of sales information to lenders and prepare monthly reconciliations.
  • Control direct debits and standing orders.
  • Record all income and expenditure.
  • Manage funds and transfers.
  • Assist with the preparation of short-term budgets.
  • Prepare yearly P11D declarations.
  • Perform bookkeeping to trial balance.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.

Financial Accounting

  • Forecast cash flow.
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and the annual budget.
  • Follow accounting policies and procedures.
  • Update weekly and monthly sales figures schedule every month.
  • Create efficient methods for accounting and financial record-keeping.
  • Assess financial status and identify methods for cost-reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Assist with managing/administration tasks associated with the various insurances for the business.
  • Manage and produce pay input and journal for accounting purposes.
  • Manage stock accounting, control, and administration for accounting purposes.
  • Calculate sales commission for each month.
  • Understand and adhere to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation.
  • Disclose or report financial activities to government authorities as necessary.
  • Provide management with regular financial management information/analysis.

Payroll Administration

  • Prepare payroll and provide approvals for BACS and other payments.
  • Manage all administration and filings relating to PAYE.
  • Manage pensions scheme and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Person Specification

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll is essential.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in managing payroll systems, including the ability to do manual payroll calculations where required.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience is essential, including (but not limited to) preparing all ledgers to trial balance, production of monthly reports, including management accounts, all balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow, and funds management, fixed asset register, and VAT returns.
  • Good understanding of month-end procedures.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in an organized manner.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • At least 5 years' experience within bookkeeping, accounting, and administration.
