About the Role

This role is part of the Infrastructure Development and Delivery department at National Grid plc, which is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering major new infrastructure across nuclear cables, substations, overhead lines, and visual impact provisions.

The team you would be joining is responsible for various tasks including project validation, cost management, tender activities, audit of subcontractors' work, invoice reconciliation, contractors' forecasts, and contractual claims.

This Industrial Placement is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the energy sector and contribute to the company's mission to keep people connected and society moving.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the team in various tasks related to project validation and cost management.
  • Validating actual costs and providing cost assurance.
  • Supporting estimating activities, reviewing Early Warning Notices, and assisting with Notices of Compensation Events.
  • Maintaining Project Risk Registers and overseeing the validation of Contractors forecast.
  • Assisting in contractual claims and the Early WarningCompensation Event process.
