Job Title: Agency General Major Scrub

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the operating theatre, assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, and providing high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating theatre for surgeries by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retractor, and other necessary items.
  • Monitor patients throughout the surgical process, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and positive surgical outcomes.
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced staff members.

Requirements:

  • Registered (RN/RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification.
  • Valid and clear registration with the NMC or HCPC.
  • Proven experience in a Scrub role (Minimum 6 months).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
