Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Energy Communications Specialist to join our team at Equinor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the delivery of the communication strategy supporting our broad energy portfolio in the UK, working closely with the UK Communication Manager to advise senior management and provide strategic and operational communication support to the UK business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to support our energy portfolio in the UK, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communication.
  • Collaborate with the UK Communication Manager to provide strategic and operational communication support to the UK business, including preparation of messaging and media briefs for senior management.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of our media strategy, including preparation of messaging and media briefs for senior management, and development of compelling storytelling content to support increased engagement on various external and internal communication channels.
  • Identify and drive proactive engagement opportunities with relevant political, industry, and community stakeholders in collaboration with the wider UK communication team.
  • Leverage your expertise to lead the planning and coordination of key conferences, events, and sponsorships, and be responsible for Equinor's UK emergency response communication strategy.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field of communication, marketing, business, international relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in political stakeholder engagement or the energy sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to act as a communication advisor to senior management and technical experts.
  • Experience with social media content generation and publishing, and the ability to leverage your expertise to drive proactive engagement opportunities with stakeholders.
