Job Title: Kitchen Assistant - Food Preparation and Service

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cedar Care Homes Ltd. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist the Chef in preparing meals, including food preparation, plating, and serving.
  • Meal Service: Prepare and heat up breakfast items and serve as required, heat up or bake prepared supper food and serve as required, and prepare sandwiches as required by the Chef.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure that the trolleys are clean and well-presented before being transported to the floors for serving, thoroughly clean all serving trolleys after each meal, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: No direct kitchen experience is required, but it is beneficial.
  • Customer Service Skills: A background in customer service or a people-oriented environment is desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
