Lead Environmental Sustainability on a Major Infrastructure Project

We are seeking a talented Environmental Sustainability professional to join our team on a prestigious project with HS2. As Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will lead the development and integration of our environmental and energy management system, ensuring industry-leading sustainability performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive sustainability ambitions and help achieve our goal to be a net zero company delivering nature positive solutions.
  2. Promote environmental initiatives aligned with our sustainability strategy, including carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and nature protection.
  3. Build collaborative relationships with project delivery teams, clients, and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver against them.
  4. Implement the LOR Energy and Environmental Management System.
  5. Manage environmental risks, deliverables, and requirements, involving design and delivery teams to identify risk mitigation and review control measures.
  6. Develop and deliver environmental training.
  7. Manage comprehensive environmental data reporting requirements and set KPIs for continual improvement.
  8. Report and investigate environmental incidents and non-conformances, and work with the project leadership team to embed corrective actions.
  9. Provide technical advice to project design and delivery teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
Requirements
  • Experience working on large infrastructure projects.
  • Positive approach to change and ability to help others become receptive and responsive.
  • Deep understanding of environmental legislation, ISO14001, and ISO50001.

We are looking for a professional with a degree in an appropriate environment or sustainability discipline.
