Catering Excellence in Lancashire
Lancashire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our catering team as a Mobile Area Support Supervisor. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team, providing high-quality meals to over 60,000 school children across Lancashire.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our catering service, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Your experience in catering for large numbers will be invaluable in this role, and your ability to work under pressure will be essential in managing the demands of a busy service.
The successful candidate will have a recognized catering qualification and/or food hygiene certificate, as well as excellent customer care skills. You will be able to work as part of a team, using your own initiative to meet the needs of our customers.
This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only. Your flexibility and adaptability will be essential in responding to the varying demands of our service.
We offer a competitive salary of £23,893 - £25,979 per annum (pro rata), plus a range of benefits, including annual leave and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the recruitment and selection of new staff, and managing probation periods
- Delivering employee induction and training programmes
- Conducting audits, developing action plans, and providing feedback
- Conducting stock control activities
- Supporting operational managers in the delivery of the service, including deploying staff
- Conducting performance engagement sessions with catering teams
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Recognized catering qualification and/or food hygiene certificate
- Experience of catering for large numbers
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
- Good customer care skills
Working Hours and Days:
- Term time only
- 30 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, between 7.30am-1.30pm
