Mental Health Support Specialist

Hours: Full time - 8:30am to 5:00pm
We are currently recruiting for a newly qualified level 4 Counsellor to join our EAP team as a Triage Assessor. This role involves assessing clients by phone, booking client appointments, sending and receiving correspondence, and ensuring all our data systems are fully updated.
Main Objectives
The EAP Team is seeking a full-time qualified counsellor to work at our head office in Southport. As an EAP Triage Assessor, you would provide empathetic support to clients, assess their needs, and arrange appointments.
You will be responsible for maintaining a calm and professional manner as the first point of contact for clients, making accurate notes, and handling incoming calls effectively.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess clients by phone and arrange appointments
- Support the internal EAP team
- Maintain a calm and professional manner as the first point of contact for clients
- Make accurate notes using excellent keyboard skills
- Handle incoming calls effectively
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of level 4 qualification in Counselling
- Over 100 hours of counselling experience
Experience
- EAP experience is desirable
- Mental health experience is essential
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to client confidentiality
- Excellent telephone manner
- Excellent administration and computer skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
