About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Physiotherapist to join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. As an Experienced Physiotherapist - Elderly Care Orthopaedics, you will be responsible for providing specialist support and advice to the physiotherapy team and managing your own caseload of patients with complex conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Work as an Experienced Physiotherapist on the hip fragility unit and elderly care wards, providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with complex needs.
  2. Participate in the management and clinical leadership of physiotherapy, working closely with the Band 7 advanced specialist or professional lead.
  3. Use specialist physiotherapy knowledge and clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the physiotherapy team.
  4. Manage your own caseload of patients with complex conditions, working autonomously as a practitioner.
  5. Contribute to the planning and policy development of the Therapy Department, ensuring a high-quality, effective, and efficient physiotherapy service in elderly care.
  6. Deputise for the Band 7 as required, taking on additional responsibilities and contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.

Person SpecificationKnowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Degree or other recognised qualification in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered

Leadership

  • Knowledge of rehabilitation principles
